Reel Electric Scooters Launch Film

Some projects are about speed – both on screen and off. When Reel, a new brand of electric scooters, approached us to create a launch film, the turnaround was tight. The goal was to coincide with their manufacturing release and showcase the scooters across a variety of use cases, while also highlighting key features and benefits. For Simply Thrilled, it was a chance to deliver creative video production in the UK at pace, without compromising on quality.

We built the film around two characters. The first was a professional who had swapped his car for a scooter commute into the financial district – sleek, practical, and efficient. The second was a younger character in a more urban environment, using the scooter to visit friends and explore the city. This dual approach let us demonstrate the scooters’ versatility, appealing to both business-minded commuters and lifestyle-focused riders.

One of the standout elements of the project was the soundtrack. We collaborated with an award-winning UK music producer who built the audio from the sounds of the scooter itself. Everything from the hum of the motor to the beeps of the companion app was woven into the track, creating a soundtrack which was both original and on-brand.

The production also needed to balance fun with responsibility. The client wanted to promote safety, so both characters were shown wearing helmets. We also included clear messaging about the scooters’ environmental advantages and ease of use. This gave the film a rounded feel – aspirational but grounded, playful but responsible.

From a technical perspective, our UK videographers had fun experimenting with perspective. We rigged Go Pro cameras to the scooters in unconventional spots – handlebars, wheels, even underneath the frame – to grab dynamic angles that a full-size camera couldn’t reach. This gave the final edit energy and variety, keeping the visuals fresh from start to finish.

The final film became a key piece of video marketing for Reel in the UK, used across digital platforms and product launches. It showcased not just the product but the lifestyle around it – blending sleek professional commutes with vibrant urban journeys.
